Two stars of the sex-tape world have collided in holy matrimony.
Pamela Anderson said her I do’s for the third time Saturday in Las Vegas, tying the knot with Rick Salomon, whom she has called a “friend for 15 years.”

“Rick and I are truly grateful,” Anderson wrote on her blog.

Salomon is best known as Paris Hilton’s ex and costar in the mattress romp One Night in Paris. Anderson, of course, had her own sex-tape hurrah when X-rated footage of her 1995 honeymoon with first husband Tommy Lee went public.

The twosome swapped vows in a quickie ceremony at the Mirage Hotel & Casino in between Anderson’s two magic shows at Planet Hollywood.

About 60 friends and family members looked on, including her sons with Lee, Brandon, 11, and Dylan, 9, as well as Tobey Maguire, Kevin Dillon and magician Hans Klok, with whom Anderson has been working as an assistant.

Anderson, 40, reportedly donned a white denim Valentino minidress for the occasion, while Salomon, 38, wore a black tuxedo paired with a black beanie.

The couple made their intentions known last month, when they applied for and obtained a license from the Clark County Marriage License Bureau.

Anderson had previously intimated there was a new man in her life in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, saying, “I paid off a poker debt with sexual favors, and I fell in love. It’s so romantic. It’s romance.”

Aside from her three-year marriage to Lee, which ended in 1998, the former Baywatch babe was briefly wed to Kid Rock last year for all of four months. Both parties filed for divorce in November, and a judge signed off on the split in March.

Salomon was previously wed to voice actress Elizabeth Daily from 1995 to 2000. In 2002, he tied the knot with Shannen Doherty, but the union was later annulled.

Here’s hoping the newlyweds have learned their lesson about cameras in the bedroom.

I came home from work today with the intention of taking a four hour nap then getting up and going to the bar. Sadly that plan fell through. Instead of waking up at 8 p.m., I woke up at 3:45 a.m. Needless to say I am wide awake, and moderately bored (reading about the Pirates trade kept me busy for awhile). I figure I should write about some of the comics I picked up during vacation.

I had not purchased them in awhile, so my list was pretty full, and it cost me around $135. I do not plan on reviewing each book I bought, but instead just want to comment on a few. There may be a few spoilers in here, so if you read some of this stuff, I apologize.

Last month, Raquel, now 67 , made a grotesquely glamorous return to the small screen in the American series Welcome To The Captain, playing one of the eccentric residents of a Hollywood apartment building.

Her character, appropriately, is a 52-year-old actress pretending to be ten years younger.

News of the show's launch, together with gossip that she is to play Eva Longoria's aunt in the new series of Desperate Housewives, evoked bizarre memories of 1990 when Raquel and I became friends.

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has hurt his knees once again, this time while doing a dangerous car stunt for home production 'Kites' in Las Vegas. Though doctors advised him eight weeks rest, the brawny actor was about and running just three days after the accident.

'I hurt myself while jumping from a car. It looked really bad. The doctor said my knee would require eight weeks of healing. He said I'd be limping on crutches for at least two weeks,' Hrithik told IANS.

A source said: 'All hell broke loose and there was panic. Hrithik was in considerable pain and unable to move. And since there was just a few days' shooting left director Anurag Basu wondered what to do.'

The accident would have put 'Kites' and Hrithik's career behind with damaging consequences. In fact, papa Rakesh Roshan was adamant that they'd rather wrap up and lose out on the schedule than risk Hrithik's knee further.

But three days after the injury Hrithik had a miraculous recovery. 'I don't know how it happened. On the third day after the accident I was running on my injured knee. So it's all fine,' said Hrithik. That's what the adamant dancing-star says. But the recurring problem with his knee refuses to go away. Hrithik's knee trouble began when he did some daring stunts in 'Krrish' and 'Dhoom 2'. Hrithik had torn the ligament in his right knee and continued working despite the tremendous pain. In fact, he completed the painstaking training, travelling and shooting required for 'Jodhaa-Akbar' with a bad knee. In December 2007, after wrapping up 'Jodhaa-Akbar', he went to Singapore for six weeks treatment.

Commenting upon his knee problem and the recent accident, the source said: 'It's a fact that Hrithik's knee is a cause for great concern for him and for his entire family. The doctors told him that he would never dance again.

'After his second son was born (May 1), Hrithik went for surgery to the US and spent nearly two months recovering. He was determined to let it heal properly because 'Kites' requires considerable athletic movement. Hrithik didn't take one wrong step until he left to shoot 'Kites' in the US.'

One hopes time would heal Hrithik completely, but it seems unlikely.

During the bidaai, it turns into a wail with songs about the girl leaving her father’s house for good. There are songs sung during harvesting season (this is common practice in other parts of the country as well).
As far as my childhood memories go, pujas are often accompanied by lyrical rendition of the mantras. During Ramanavmi, Ramayana as it is played out before spectators has musical interludes as a narrative device and so on. As has been pointed out in numerous treatises on folk and pop culture, our musical heritage could have something to do with Bollywood’s musical inclination. In fact, as Hindi films begin to take their place in the world, it is perhaps this feature which will be its hallmark that will distinguish it from the rest.
Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding complete with its shaadi n’ sangeet impressed audiences across the world, never mind its modest budget and lack of big ticket stars. It reportedly packed in more people in the theatres in US than Lagaan which was up for Oscars in the foreign film category. Moulin Rouge paid its small tribute to Bollywood style when it incorporated chamma chamma… And spearheading the dance brigade is choreographer, director Farah Khan who has been involved in several prestigious forays on the international front-Vanity Fair, Bombay Dreams and of course, Monsoon Wedding. There’s also Vaibhavi Merchant who along with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali worked on Padmavati, a French opera recently. The opera won good reviews in Paris. New age filmmakers would do well to keep in mind this differentiator when trying to make their way in the global space-putting it to good use might work better than following the western template sans the sangeet!
Meanwhile, Indian television industry is fast acquiring traits that are in keeping with international standards. If you don’t believe me, watch Big Boss (aptly referred to as House of Horrors by noted columnist Shobhaa De). Every participant, by now obviously wise to the tricks of television, is doing their bit to register well with the viewers. Seeing old footage of them (a jailbird, a P3P in news for alleged wife beating and drug abuse, a failed actor, faded TV actor, an OTT item girl, a wannabe starlet and a wannabe big league politico) wave out to crowds before entering the House hinted at just one outcome-Biggest Loser Jeetega. Long live their fifteen minutes of fame!

Well, who is avoiding and who is hiding is still not confirmed. But it’s definitely better for Priyanka to say that she was not there rather than that she was subtly snubbed by the Bong beauty.
